ATTENTION: Obvious failure to read and comply with these guidelines will result in the deletion of your submission. We like you, but we like you more when you read. The guidelines for the submission of WRITTEN WORK to BROAD at stories@broad-mag.com are as follows: 1. Works submitted for publication must be unsyndicated and unpublished, either in print or on a website not owned by you. Longer works of fiction or epic poetry may be serialized at our discretion but will not be edited for length. Any nontraditional medium of narrative expression will be given equal consideration. 2. Works submitted as writing samples may be syndicated or published. Any previous appearances of works submitted for our consideration must be clearly indicated. 3. We accept works narrated in the first person or based upon personal experience, but we discourage heavily introspective pieces, commentary, and independent editorials, and we do not publish advice columns. There are no other restrictions on genre. 4. We will read works-in-progress with the understanding that they are representative of the finished piece but are not ready for immediate publication. We will do our best to accomodate your editorial needs. The guidelines for submission of VISUAL WORK to BROAD at art@broad-mag.com are as follows: 1. Works submitted for publication must be unsyndicated and unpublished, either in print or on a website not owned by you. Full-length graphic novels may be serialized at our discretion but will not be edited for length. Any nontraditional medium of narrative expression will be given equal consideration. 2. Works submitted as samples may be syndicated or published. Any previous appearances of works submitted for our consideration must be clearly indicated. 3. We will read works-in-progress with the understanding that they are representative of the finished piece but are not ready for immediate publication. We will do our best to accomodate your editorial needs. All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter, brief bio, résumé, and a glamorous photograph of the author. Microsoft Word documents are preferred. There is no monetary compensation for work accepted and included in online issues of BROAD. All photography is done for credit only at this time. Photographers wishing to be considered for pinups of writers in their area may send an email, with cover letter and links to relevant samples, to pinups@broad-mag.com.
